Hauppauge Public Schools Teacher Lara Damadeo Passes Away. People in Hauppauge Public Schools are sad about the death of Lara Damadeo, who was a popular fourth-grade teacher at Bretton Woods Elementary School. Damadeo died suddenly while on vacation in Denmark. He left behind a legacy of hard work and inspiration.
She worked for the district for 24 years and was admired by many of her coworkers, children, and their families.
It made Lara Damadeo happy to say that she had graduated from Hauppauge High School in 1995. She did so well in school in high school that she was accepted into the National Honor Society. She did great things outside of school too.

She was a great ballet dancer and an active member of the Interact Club. These early accomplishments showed that she was dedicated to growing as a person and getting involved in her community.
Damadeo went to college after high school and got a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and Dance Education/Performance from New York University. Dowling College gave her a Master of Science in Reading Teacher Education, which added to her knowledge.

Her academic journey showed how much she loved teaching and how determined she was to make her students love learning too. She reached another important goal in August 2024 when she earned a Master of Science in Exercise Psychology at Concordia College. This showed that she had been dedicated to learning and growing all her life.
In 2000, Damadeo started working as a full-time teacher in Hauppauge. She quickly became known as a dedicated and effective teacher. During her work, she was known for being able to get students interested and make the classroom a good place to learn.
Her kids and their families will always remember how nice she was and how great a teacher she was. Many parents remember her as a teacher who had a big effect on their kids’ lives and helped them love learning and be confident in themselves.

Damadeo was a skilled teacher, but she was also a great fitness and Pilates coach. She worked for the Ohman School of Ballet and taught at private schools, where she shared her love of dance and health with others.
Her dedication to dance and exercise showed that she saw life as a whole and believed that mental and physical health were equally important.

When people who knew her heard the news of her death, they were filled with grief and praise. A kind post called her “a sweetheart” who was “always kind to everyone and a true lover of dance.”
Another remembrance from a parent talked about how much of an effect she had on students: “Ms Damadeo was both my son and daughter’s teacher, seven years apart.” I was also her teacher’s wife. The time my kids spent with her was very important to both of them, and we will always be thankful for that.
The shocking death of Damadeo in Denmark has shocked everyone. Even though there is still no official word on what caused her death, everyone who knew her will miss her very much.

The Hauppauge Public School District sent out a statement of sympathy, which was signed by Dr. Donald Murphy, the Superintendent of Schools. The statement stressed how much she meant to the school community and how she changed many people’s lives forever.
As the community grieves, funeral plans will be made public as soon as possible. In the meantime, people who knew and loved Lara Damadeo are comforted by thoughts of how warm, kind, and dedicated she was. As a teacher, mentor, and friend, she will be remembered and will continue to inspire people in the Hauppauge neighbourhood and beyond.
